The Violence of the Mind
So many people are wondering today if our world is becoming a more violent place and individuals are losing their self control?
Our world has actually always been a very violent place, and violence is actually decreasing as the human race gradually progresses towards maturity. But many individuals and groups are losing self-control, and this is becoming an increasingly serious issue. There is a great debate today about weapons and guns in particular. Both sides of this debate make valid points. The real issue is where violence starts. In the mind. Ultra-violence in video games and movies are just two examples of this problem. Most adults are able to discern the difference between fantasy and reality. Children have become targets of product manufacturers and media that play upon the natural physical aggression, changes, and fears of young people. The video age and new technologies have brought us both excellent communication, the desire to be noticed, and in the spotlight. This is not necessarily a negative thing, but can have negative ramifications. The 24-hour news services, lacking fresh concepts and positive ideas, tend to focus upon the negative in order to attract listeners and viewers. The competition is fierce, and so the idea to shock individuals is now more acceptable than ever.
The information age is here, and this is a good thing. (I myself own three computers). Many years ago I worked for an Internet company. The very first thing I learned was that the Internet is simply a group of computers hooked together. We are all now becoming connected with each other, and that is a very positive thing. Many wonderful things are happening out of this, and we are just beginning to understand the value of worldwide connections with individuals and the ability to get information quickly. Remember waiting in line for concert tickets? No more. You can schedule a business trip or vacation from the comfort of your own living room, office, or just about anywhere. So many benefits. Because these technologies are relatively new, we have not yet quite considered the downside of information overload. Our minds have not quite caught up with our technology.
Individuals and groups are naturally hungry for attention and a desire to be noticed in a world that seems to be changing too fast sometimes. This can and does lead to some unhealthy psychological and emotional feelings. Most individuals want to be recognized for their beautiful personalities and wonderful accomplishments. Some individuals and groups, not being able to achieve this, so they believe, consider and even act out in negative expressions, in order to be noticed and taken seriously.
As an Exorcist, I find a great overload of emotional energies in both individuals and groups. We all handle these emotions in different ways. Some in positive ways. Some in negative ways.
Our energy fields are becoming battered with emotional energy from many different sources. People we work with, have relationships with, images and concepts we get from different media, all contribute to the accumulation of excess and even negative emotional energies. This overload of our personal energy fields which some people call the Aura, interferes with our ability to make good decisions, and has overcome the natural emotional checks and balances that have existed in our societies for so many years. This is a worldwide issue, and is not limited to any one particular continent, country, or area of our planet.
I am not advocating taking out violence from movies nor video games. Censorship is not the answer. But the ability of children to gain access to extremely violent images and concepts is a new phenomenon in our world. And those companies and corporations that target children need to take responsibility for their irresponsible actions.
We also need to look at the solutions to the energetic repercussions of instant communication, deliberate and angry political posturing which can actually amplify anger, violent thoughts and feelings, and the power to make these feelings become a reality. Essentially, we must learn how to protect our personal energy fields. This is easier than you may think. By learning how to release negative emotional energies in a constructive and positive way, and learning how to generate a stronger individual energy field, our thoughts and minds will become stronger and healthier, and better able to deal with our rapidly changing world.
Our thoughtful news organizations should begin to focus upon solutions to the many problems facing our world, and begin to leave behind the concept and practice of frightening individuals deliberately, and carelessly reporting mostly bad news.
In the last several years, I have spoken many times in different media about how our world was not going to come to any end in 2012. And it has not of course. So now as we begin 2013, we have a golden opportunity to begin to heal ourselves and our world. Information technology and guns are not the problem. We need to begin to tend to our thoughts, which is where unhappiness and violent actions begin. As our societies mature, it is important to keep every aspect of our being healthy. So many wonderful things are in store for us here on the planet Earth. Let's work together to make this happen. The future is ours. It can be what we want it to be.
